In these dreadful times when even the youth are uncertain about stepping out, KR Srinivas Rao, a 70-year old gentleman, has been busy helping society. Srinivas Rao was running errands on his bicycle to deliver ration, medicines, food, and other essentials to the needy, even when Covid cases were peaking.
A retired Air India employee and a resident of West Marredpally, Rao also helps Hyderabad Relief Riders in confirming whether a request is real or not. Rao has been attending requests on his bicycle within a six to eight km distance from his home. He has even sponsored the requirements of the needy in many cases.
Rao says that in the beginning, his wife was a bit hesitant, but now she is very cooperative. However, his children don't support his deeds completely because they are wary of him catching the virus if he goes out so frequently amid the pandemic. Rao, who spends about 2 hours every day playing table tennis, said that in the last couple of months, he has even served people younger than him.
His fellow riders at Hyderabad Relief Riders take him as an inspiration.
