Hyderabad
December 15, 2021, marks a big day in the pharma segment of Hyderabad city. Already known as the pharma hub world over, the country’s biggest medical device industrial park will be open from today. The complex has come up on the outskirts of the city in Sultanpur, which will house seven medical device industries. The project was started about four years back when KTR laid the foundation for the same.
Promea Therapeutics, Huwell Life Sciences, Akruti Oculoplasty, Arka Engineers, SVP Techno Engineers, Elvicon, and Deesmedilife will have their factories working here. With this launch, Hyderabad is no longer just a pharma hub. It has become the hub for medical devices too.
Various devices required in the medical field, such as care devices, vitro diagnostic apparatus, Alzheimer’s, ocular implants, surgical, dental implants, dressing, etc., will be manufactured in these newly set-up factories.
Presently, Rs 225 crore investment has been put up for the factories, and they will provide employment to 1300 people directly. However, by the year 2030, the investments will reach up to 1 billion dollars, as per estimates of the Telangana government.
The medical devices park will be a step forward in Telangana’s efforts to retain its top position in the pharma sector in the country.
