Hyderabad
On February 8, the foundation stone for the new IT twin towers at Kompally will be laid. This initiative is a part of the state's aim to reduce congestion in the city's western region. According to reports, the government intends to disperse growth across the city, according to its Growth In Dispersion policy 2020, and the foundation stone for the IT towers will be laid on the coming Tuesday.
19 acres of land have been acquired by the government as a part of this project, of which 10 acres have been allotted for the twin towers' construction, which is expected to accommodate over 300 companies.
The IT companies in Kompally reportedly have about 3000-4000 employees and are mostly medium and small scale enterprises. CEO-Lasya IT solutions and president of Kompally IT entrepreneurs association, Oruganti Venkat, says that once the twin IT towers become operational, it would help new companies to set up businesses at much lower costs as the western corridor has become too costly. This project will also provide more employment to people.
Venkat also added that standalone companies would also be able to accommodate co-working for smaller organizations.
The Twin IT towers are the first of the state's many plans to implement the GRID, including the proposed Uppal-Nagole-LB Nagar area, in the east. Venkat said that the state has also identified close to 500 acres in Kompally and Medchal, for which the acquisition process has been initiated.
In the last five to six years, Kompally has seen immense growth in terms of residential property, hospitals, schools, entertainment zones, and restaurants.
