The Telangana government is planning to connect the Outer Ring Road (ORR) with the Regional Ring Road (ORR). It plans to build 50 radial roads for this purpose. Officials say the transport will be easier if the 338-kilometer RRR is connected to the 158-kilometer-long ORR. Radial roads connecting the two are expected to serve as link roads from ORR to RRR.
The government has already sought a DPR from HMDA on this. Radial roads will be constructed in two tranches. The initial estimate is that it will cost around Rs 2,500 crore. However, clarity about the cost is likely only after the DPR is formulated. The construction of these 50 radial roads has been jointly entrusted to the Municipal Administration and the Urban Development, Roads, Buildings, and Rural Development Departments.
Information is that these will be built similar to the seven radial roads built for the ORR. Officials say the radial roads will connect Sangareddy-Narsapur-Tupran-Gajwel-Jagadevpur-Bhuvanagiri-Chautaupal-Amangal-Yacharam-Kandukur-Shadnagar-Chevella-Kandi.
