Hyderabad
Two places in Hyderabad, rather two zones in Hyderabad city, have been able to get rid of the garbage problem thanks to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). The two colonies that had a facelift happen to be Vinay Nagar in Masab Tank and Sanath Nagar.
In both areas, the locals were used to dumping heaps of garbage, and the roads were filled with piles for the entire stretch. There was a stench due to this that led to various problems such as mosquitoes and water stagnation during monsoons. In short, the areas were in a total mess, and the locals and authorities did not know a way out.
The locals, despite constant complaining, did not stop dumping their waste on the road stretches, and this became a headache for GHMC, which tried to clean the area time and again. However, finally, GHMC has come up with a unique thought to solve the problem once and for all.
They build vendor zones on these stretches. Brightly painted, they immediately attract one’s attention, and these new facilities spruce up the once-dumped locality. While the vendor zone in Vinay Nagar has 12 shops, the one in Sanath Nagar has 18 shops in all.
