The journey between Hyderabad and Bengaluru will get faster in the days to come. National Highway 44 (Srinagar - Kanyakumari), the longest in the country, will be widened from four lanes to six lanes. The construction will be done through the latest technology and will commence very soon.
The major cities in South India, Hyderabad, and Bangalore are home to a large number of IT, Beatty, pharma, and startup companies. This has increased traffic between the two cities. National Highway 44 passes through seven states, from one end of the country to the other.
The 44th National Highway is 150 km long in Karnataka. To widen the existing four-lane road between Bengaluru and Hyderabad to six lanes, it is estimated to cost Rs 4,750 crore. The distance between the cities of Bengaluru and Hyderabad is 570 km. Travel time between the two cities is 12 hours. The journey time got reduced to 8 hours after the road is expanded to four lanes. Travel time is likely to be further saved if the six lanes process is completed.
