The municipal bodies and the government are on a development spree in the city as efforts of all kinds are being made daily to improve the city experience for all types of citizens, from revamping small parks to building skywalks for techies disinfecting schools to updating market spaces and water bodies. Everything is beginning together in the city with a hope for a better-looking Hyderabad.
The latest to be a part of the city's numerous plans is the iconic location of Monda Market, which is near the Secunderabad Railway Station, the heart of Secunderabad. This market location hasn't seen many changes over the years in terms of the ease of access or bottleneck traffic on weekends and before festivals and a series of clumsy market setups. However, this market is set to see a transformation and will resemble the Mozamjahi Market at Nampally.
The secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD), Arvind Kumar, visited the entire market along with Animal Husbandry Ministry Talasani Srinivas Yadav. He discussed what could be done to revamp more than a century-old market. The secretary also took to Twitter to share which areas will be the key focus for a total transformation.
The old jail is one of the significant landmarks of yesterday at this market which should have been a heritage structure but is used as commercial space rented out to few shop owners. The Animal Husbandry Minister is quite keen on making these changes possible and focuses on road widening near Palika Bazar and the route to old Gandhi Hospital. Also, possible multilevel parking, slight changes in the current market position, and reorganizing works will commence after a report is submitted by a team of experts who will visit these locations soon.
