Art is therapeutic and more so in pandemic times. One IT professional who has sharpened her painting skills during these testing times is Poojitha Reddy Tondooru, who has been painting fantastical drawings which have garnered her many fans.
Poojitha says her art keeps her at peace, and despite her newfound fame, she does not want to take it up commercially. All her works are figments of her imagination and are intriguing and awe-inspiring. Poojitha uses a wide range of media such as pencils, graphite, to ink and her strength is to depict a world of fantasy elements.
Though she tried to learn the art as she wanted to paint her mom’s portrait, she found that drawing faces needed the right nuances, and she shifted back to doing fantastical art. While she drew well in school, she started doodling and scribbling at work, which slowly brought out the urge in her to paint on large canvasses.
Poojitha is particularly proud of one of her works, where a beautiful and confident girl is seen with a mask, and she is breaking apart due to the pandemic. The IT professional says commissioned art limits my imagination and my extent. So, she prefers letting her imagination talk of her prowess.
