Sindhi Colony is a place where many shop and it is equally famous for its various bandis and small eateries. In fact, it can be termed as Secunderabad’s khau galli. The rush of customers begins at around 5 pm and continues till about 2 am in the mornings.
Just about everyone is aware of Ram ki Bandi and its popularity in Hyderabad, thanks to social media. If one loves spice as would, any true-blooded Telugu would, then one has to try their karam dosa or dosa sprinkled with paprika powder. The dosa with the chutney is what many come for. In fact, the Sindhi Colony branch is a franchise of the original Ram ki Bandi, though the only difference is that it is run by his brother. The bandi has been serving yummy dosas, idlis, and a variety of upmas to its ardent customers.
They have a pizza dosa for those who have a large appetite. Then there is the much-preferred cheese dosa which many find filling. The bandi has been operational since February 2021.
And right across the street is Dosa Verito that offers a whopping 151 varieties of dosas. The owner says he got the idea from Vijayawada. He is happy that a lot of customers from across the city savor his dosas.
Sindhi Colony khau galli is also popular for vada pav and dabeli, which is not hard to guess going by the name of the colony. But one popular bandi is that of Magha called Chachaji stall. She says she sells about 1000 vada pavs in a day and adds that she does not keep her customers waiting for long despite the rush.
Apart from the bandis, khau galli also has a drive-in called Terminal Dive Inn, where people can enjoy various cuisines such as Chinese, Italian, Indian, and even milkshakes. The customers echo similar thoughts and maintain that it is one place they love to come with family and have their fill.
Another favorite hang-out place for local retired citizens is Idli Bite, which serves good coffee and a variety of south Indian tiffins. The customers share that the coffee here is a must-try.
