This year, the marathon scene hasn't been that great with the second wave that has kept all public events out for a good while this year as well. However, with vaccinations reaching 100% and people adhering to covid protocols, the marathon scene is set to return.
The marathon events in the city have a lot of women participants and many runs with causes that are only participated by women. This year, the women runners are set to experience something different as they welcome the marathon scene. The night run for women titled Starlight Strides will be women taking part in a unique marathon post-sunset.
Hyderabad Runners announced this event and has set the date to October 23, Saturday. This run will take place at the University of Hyderabad Campus. The big campus with multiple roads and enough lighting is a perfect venue, expressed the organizers. The race at 8 pm is divided into three different races: the 5km race without a timing chip and the 7km and 10km race with a timing chip. All the above races are exclusively for women, and the event expects at least 750 women to gather together and enjoy the night run.
