Yes, you read that one right. You can now enjoy a cup of tea for Rs 1000 at the swank outlet of Niloufer Cafe at Road No 12, Banjara Hills. Connoisseurs of tea are already going gaga over the ‘hazaar rupai ki chai,’ or the premium Maijan Golden Tips tea served at the cafe.
The tea leaves used in the tea are plucked from the tea gardens of a village called Maijan in the tea capital of India, Assam. The tea does not come with just a fancy price tag. It is hand-plucked second flush tea which has a unique taste that is quite refreshing and leaves a lasting effect.
The manager of the Banjara Hills outlet of Niloufer Cafe says that the Golden Tips tea was procured by them at an auction in Maijan at Rs 75,000 per kg. He shares that only one and a half kilo was produced, and the entire lot was acquired by Niloufer Cafe. Golden Tips tea comes with a unique earthy fragrance and a sweet aftertaste.
Incidentally, it also has health benefits such as boosting heart health, lessening stress, reducing cholesterol, and curing indigestion.
Apart from Golden Tips Tea, the lastest outlet of Niloufer Cafe offers a variety of world-class teas such as the Silver Needle White tea, South African Rooibos, Moroccan Mint, and Japanese Sencha at Rs 300. They also have flower-infused teas such as jasmine and chamomile.
Also, they have a rather uniquely curated menu that has Italian food, confectionery, sandwiches, salads, items like ragi upma, quinoa, etc.
Soon, Niloufer Cafe is coming up with another one-of-its-kind cafe in Himayat Nagar. This one will also be unique and completely different, shares Reddy.
