The pent-up urge to go visiting places has hit an all-time high among Hyderabadis. While some are traveling abroad and while some are heading north for some relaxing breaks, Hyderabadis are slowly realizing the fact that there are many well-developed, budget-friendly places around the city that make for ideal weekend getaways. These are less explored and not so popular spots, at least till now, and Hyderabadis are totally utilizing them for relaxing and adventurous holidays.
One place happens to be the Lower Manair Dam. The dam was constructed across the Manair River in Alugunur village, Karimnagar. The dam is located just over 162 km from Hyderabad. The river happens to be a tributary of Godavari, and there is ample natural beauty. One can spend a beautiful evening by the riverbank, enjoy the soft breeze, and go boating.
Eegalapenta. This is another perfect drive to a location situated about 190km from the city. This small village in Mahabubnagar district is located in the Nallamala Hills and is on the way to Srisailam. While the drive is picturesque due to the lush forest on both sides, one can catch picturesque views from Haritha Resorts at Eegalapenta. In the vicinity is the jungle safari in Farhabad, the Mallela Theertham waterfalls, and Octopus Viewpoint, which you must not miss.
Kangala waterfalls is another interesting destination about 275km from the city. The waterfall is bound to break the monotony of the entire week. There are lush forests all along the road, which helps to breathe fresh air. A major attraction, though, is the waterfall amid the cliffs thickened with green forests. It is quite a spectacle in itself.
