Of course, you have heard of Matka kulfi and Hyderabad’s favorite matka biryani. However, this new place is serving Matka pasta, maggie, and brownie. Now, that surely comes as a surprise as no one has ever heard of Matka pasta. However, the owners of the restaurant Thora Aamuktha Sai Sree and Yelma Chethan, say that the concept of Mr. Matka, the name of the restaurant, was born out of their desire to serve something different to their customers. Incidentally, the duo happened to connect on social media and bonded over their love for food, and eventually started the restaurant.
Mr. Matka, which is gaining popularity among Hyderabadis as the food has this amazing smoky flavor, is located at 5th Phase, KPHB Colony. Though Aamuktha and Chetan were from the same college, they had never met before, and it’s food that brought them together.
The place offers a variety of dishes like Pasta Mazakka, Matka Chicken Maggi, Chocolate ice cream sandwich, Kulhad Jonna Gatka, and desserts like Pot Brownie, Matka Junnu, Bellam Dry Fruit Pootharekulu, Palli bobbattu, and Nuvvula Bobbattu.
Though Chethan worked for an MNC for a year, he realized it was the food business that suited him best. He shares that he saw his friend sharing recipes on Instagram and then approached her. Together, they started the small bandi, says the 23-year-old.
Like many these days, they wanted to do something eco-friendly, and that’s how they decided to choose matkas. But a bigger surprise is that they have now tied up with Thick Shake Factory and moved to a new place. They also take online orders these days, says Aamuktha.
Both the owners are also proud that they have provided employment to artisans by coming up with the concept.
