SN Ruhi Fatima, the founder of Mamafood, has come up with a solution who are homemade food lovers. Ruhi, who is a final year student from the Deccan College of Engineering, has combined her passion for serving society and her immaculate entrepreneurial skills.
Fatima says that she always wanted to help people access homemade food and provide employment to housewives so that they could have an income source. Fatima recalls that earlier she had plans of setting up a restaurant, but the pandemic turned out to be a hurdle. But her resolve to initiate a food business was very strong, and so she created the website. Mamafood was the fastest to launch at Edventure park.
There is no fixed menu on the website as it is a platform for home kitchens. However, customers can select from the dishes available on that specific day and time. The primary target of Mamafood is women, but Fatima claims that there is no hard-fast rule restricting men from registering on the website.
Fatima says that she is currently focusing only on Hyderabad. The idea is to connect with a maximum number of people residing in business hubs, like the Financial District and Gachchibowli.
Ruhi had conducted a similar project in the past titled “Madad,” a platform that gave employment to differently-abled people and semi-skilled people in the large, medium, and small sectors.
