If you haven't already heard of him or following his work, then Shreya Ayaluri is the avant-garde writer behind 'Amuse Me' and 'Suburbia.' And now, he is back with his latest Elvis Escobar and Juniper Lea. Within a month of its completion, it is already a festival darling and a jury favorite at film festivals. Rave reviews and nominations have now become common for him, as are comments like this one – "utterly whacky and refreshingly original with a great market potential."
A name of forward-thinking multi-racial romantic comedies, Shreyas has been the alumnus of the New York Film Academy and University of California Los Angeles. He is perfectly juggling between both his talents as a writer and a producer. He has just recently produced 'Best short – Audience choice' at the esteemed ULCA Film Festival.
His upcoming projects include a high-profile collaboration between Hollywood and India, Dr. Frank & Fiona's Fantastical 50th, his passion project ALOHA NIGHTS and a few he has up his sleeve but does not want to disclose.
After his award-winning and highly acclaimed first project, Amuse Me, he has written seven other successful screenplays for film and TV alongside producing numerous award-winning short films. He says, "the world has had enough, especially this past year, and everyone needs to calm down and take a breather and what I want to be is an enabler in all this."
"Through my stories, I am trying to bring back the charm and silliness of the 80s and 90s with their cinematic essence and in today's relevance. His latest project, Elvis Escobar & Juniper Lea, is a laugh riot and an ode to Jeff Goldblum and is breaking all his previous records.
A copywriter turned screenplay writer, Shreyas has taken on the Hollywood and literary world by storm. And he is now taking a plunge into Broadway by writing a narrative song for an upcoming, highly anticipated production. Several writing projects and Broadway are likely to keep him busy for a long time.
