Hyderabad
Eegalapenta is a hitherto unheard-of name among tourists and nature lovers. Situated about 190km from Hyderabad, it is a charming destination for a short trip. Also, the Telangana Tourism Department has developed the area by constructing a new resort here.
The place happens to be a small village in Mahabubnagar district located in Nallamala Hills on the way to Srisailam. The Haritha property developed here provides some awesome views to the visitors of the Krishna river, the surrounding hillocks, and the forest cover. And it’s barely 190 km away from the city.
Also, the drive to the place itself is a delight thanks to the ghat road between Hyderabad and Srisailam. En route, one can enjoy a jungle safari at Farhabad, Mallela Theertham waterfalls, and Octopus Viewpoint.
You no longer have to go to tiger reserves in neighboring states. The Amrabad Tiger Reserve has located around 40 km from Eegalapenta. There is a jungle safari that is organized by the forest department, though spotting the majestic tiger is based on sheer luck. The vehicles here can seat around 10 people with a ticket price of Rs 120 per person. Even if you don’t spot a tiger, drive to the Farhabad viewpoint is worth its while and enjoyable both to kids and elders.
Then, of course, there is Mallela Theertham waterfalls, another interesting stopover which is about 13 km from Farhabad. One has to get down 350 steps to reach the waterfall. So, the entire process of reaching the waterfall and making your way back is exhilarating. However, going into the water is not allowed. But there are few that do take a shower under the waterfalls.
Once done and back on the main road, your next stop is Octopus Viewpoint, which is about 25 km from Farhabad viewpoint. The best part here is that you can buy a ticket to drive right up to Octopus Viewpoint. The place closes for visitors at 5 pm, so plan your trip accordingly.
And once back at Eegalapenta, you can watch beautiful vistas just as the sun sets on the river and the forest around it. If you get a room on the first floor with a balcony, the view is truly amazing.
Since Haritha Resort is a new property, make a quick trip and enjoy your weekend.
