Think cartoons, and one thinks of Tom and Jerry. But lo and behold, you now have cartoons, and they are as native as they can get. The brainchild of Hemanth Kumar, who is a research engineer at a city MNC, his Instagram page maa.inti.kaburlu has cartoons that would take you back to the 90s. There is something for everyone to relate to and take a trip down the memory lane.
Hemanth was into art since his childhood and experimented with various art forms like, portraits to realism to digital art, when he happened to attend a workshop on cartoons. Hemanth says he used to take up a lot of commissioned art and realistic digital charcoal art before he attended the workshop on cartoons.
He says his journey started off with a cartoon of a child and mom, which he did for his mother for mother’s day. It worked well with his friends and well-wishers, and soon he was making cartoons depicting various scenes from the 90s, like how one got yelled at for picking things from mud, not wanting to drink milk, mock fights, and enjoying sweets during festivities, etc. In fact, that’s the reason his cartoons are called maa inti kaburlu, as they were everyday happenings in every household.
Hemanth took a short break due to work but says he will be back with a bunch of cartoons very soon. Right now, he is working on scripting them with the help of his friends. Surely, Telugu audiences have been used to cartoons of some really big names, but what sets Hemanth apart is the simplicity and nativity factor. Hemanth wants more and more Telangana youngsters to create cartoons in days to come.
