Okati Coffee... sounds like how you would tell a boy in a small-time eatery. But Okati Coffee is not any small eatery. In fact, it is the new place that all of Secunderabad is interested in of late. Remember the Italian restaurant Thinespo in Kompally that was a one-of-its-kind name when the owners first chose to name it in Telugu. Okati Coffee probably takes inspiration from them. But it has worked for the couple who started the cafe in 2021 in Kowkur.
People from Yapral, Alwal, Sainikipuri, and AS Rao Nagar flock in to spend some quality time at the space that is done up tastefully. The cafe has rustic bare-brick walls, wooden furniture, and a comic theme, which goes well with generation Z. Of course, it also has its share of family customers who simply love to chill over a cup of coffee or tea.
Okati Coffee is the baby of Vinayak Rao, who quit his 20-year-old corporate job to open the restaurant. He then curated the continental and Chinese menu along with his wife. So, while there, you can enjoy pasta, appetizers, sizzler pizzas, burgers, and desserts like brownies and ice cream. Apart from hot teas and coffees, there are also cold coffees and mocktails, just right for the summer months.
The price range is between Rs 60 to Rs 350. While the cafe is getting customers through word of mouth, their bestsellers include veg Manchuria, mixed fried rice, fish and chips, fried chicken and cheese, and Lavazza coffee. While they have a team of six chefs, for now, they intend to open branches in Kompally and Vizag soon.
