BJP MLA Raja Singh has warned that Standup Comedian Munawar Faruqui, who is insulting Hindu gods, will be chased out if he comes to Telangana. "Munawar has already been banned by 16 states. How did KTR invite such a person to come to Telangana state? Did KTR invite Munawar Farooqi to humiliate Hindu gods?" Raja Singh questioned.
"If Munawar Faruqui, who insults Hindu deities and gods, comes to Telangana, we will chase him away. KTR will be held responsible for the consequences that follow. To prevent this from happening, cancel the program immediately," the Goshamahal MLA warned. Raja Singh also wrote to the Police Department not to give permission for the event.
On December 17, MA&AD Minister KTR took a sarcastic dig at Bangalore and called Hyderabad a true ‘cosmopolitan’. He extended an invitation to Munawar Faruqui and Kunal Kamra to do shows in Hyderabad. While participating in an event, KTR said, "Hyderabad is a truly cosmopolitan city and we don't cancel shows of Munnawar Faruqui or Kunal Kamra just because we are not politically aligned to them". Following that, an event of Munnawar Faruqui has been announced in the city on January 9th.
