Various stories regarding the imminent climate change and flooding in the city due to unrestricted constructions have led many to consider sustainable housing and greenhouses as a safe alternative for the future. From budget-friendly houses to luxury villas and gated communities, sustainable home solutions seem to be on top of the list of builders and developers at a realty show held at Hitex by the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI).
As per one developer, Greenmark, they have chosen to leave a huge chunk of natural soil at the center of their upcoming project called Central Park to recreate the feel of a natural forest. They say ornamental lawns on cement podiums are a thing of the past.
The developers at the three-day event shared that the shift towards green buildings was triggered due to necessity, and now the investors feel it is a viable option for years to come. The houses are being developed with WFH spaces and relaxation spaces to suit the ‘new’ demand of investors.
Those participating in the show also saw an increase in demand for villas and 3-BHK houses on the outskirts of the city. The event brought together realtors, building material manufacturers, financial institutions to highlight the latest developments in the realty sector.
