The BCCI has finalized the venues for the T20 World Cup to be held in October this year. Hyderabad which missed out on hosting IPL gets a chance. The matches will be played in nine venues. The World Cup finals will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Hyderabad along with Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Dharmashala will be hosting the matches.
On the other hand, it seems that visa restrictions have been lifted for the Pakistan cricket team. BCCI secretary Jay Shah said there will be no visa issues for the Pakistani team coming to participate in the World Cup. Jay Shah said the government had agreed to issue visas on the issue of issuing visas to Pakistani players.
Although visas will be issued to players, no decision has been taken on whether to issue visas to foreign fans in the wake of COVID-19. He said a decision on this would be taken soon. However, there is no clarity if the Pakistan cricket team, led by Babar Azam, will play the tournament or will skip it as a mark of protest for BCCI severing cricket ties.
