Machstatz and eskindoctor were the two start-ups announced under Avishkar DeepTech Accelerator Cohort No 11 and OJAS MedTech Accelerator Cohort No 5. This was announced by the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at IIIT Hyderabad.
Machstatz offers smart devices along with connectivity, communication, software analytics, dash-boarding and reporting to provide complete solutions for their customers. The start-up acquired traction with customers in industries such as steel, chemical, glass, textile, and automotive. Established in 2017, the start-up was the brainchild of Sameer Patnaik, Pruthviraj Subudhi, and Srikant Gupta.
Eskindoctor Healthcare Private Limited, on the other hand, is focused on dermatology and is using artificial intelligence and deep learning algorithms to address the gap between the availability of doctors and improving the accuracy and efficiency in dealing with various skin conditions.
CIE-IIITH is primarily focused on nurturing and encouraging tech start-ups. To date, they have had about 400 start-ups in the incubator and about 20 start-ups in accelerator programs. For this particular cohort, 7 start-ups pitched for OJAS Accelerator and 9 start-ups pitched for the Deeptech accelerator. The investment committee comprised of professors, clinicians, angel investors, and other ecosystem partners.
Avishkar DeepTech is a 6-month cohort-based accelerator for emerging tech start-ups and OJAS MedTech happens to be an accelerator for start-ups in life sciences, biotechnology, diagnostics, point of care devices for healthcare, facilitated by CIE.
Through the program, CIE helps the start-ups to go through a structured business mentoring process that includes co-creation consulting, customer introductions and investor connect for investments.
