The BMC has decided to take control of 80% of beds in private hospitals and nursing homes due to the steep rise of cases in the city. The civic body took this decision as most of these private players are keeping it in the dark in informing about the Covid admissions. Besides, the BMC is also ready to increase its bed capacity from 13,773 to 21,000 to handle the worst-case scenario.
