Nature lovers in the city have realized how the plans made by the Government for the city and the state, on the whole, can result in a lot of damage to the environment and how the loss of trees for urbanization is not something the human race can afford. Knowing how devastating the future is going to get considering the current scenario of destruction and extinction.

A group of 60 people recently gathered for a peaceful protest against the axing of a vast and nice-looking banyan tree that anyone can notice on the Chevella-Vikarabad road. The nature lovers gathered for a silent rally against the four-lane highway proposed to be built by cutting down this giant tree. The protesters explained how banyan trees are relatively rare across the city, and this location has a cluster of them that might all get razed for a new road.

In addition, the protestors explained how Banyan trees are a part of the state's culture, and cutting them all kills a small aspect of the vibrant culture. The protestors explained the presence of more than 1000 banyan trees from Moinabad to Vikarabad and how state projects might slowly see this number reduce.

Banyan trees have been a great source of moderating temperature giving people an excellent calm atmosphere, and few with their gigantic structure look pretty rare. The nature lovers explained how they have no objection to the Government's plan for an efficient road as it is a good thing for everyone but somehow feel that a way is possible to build the road without axing the trees. A historian who was part of this protest explained how most of these trees were planted when Himayatsagar and Osmansagar were built.
