Mumbai Police will now be able to expedite the cybercrime investigations more than usual. The induction of five standalone cyber crime police stations will felicitate them to track down the crime at a faster pace. Located in five regions of the city, these police stations were inaugurated on Tuesday marking the occasion of Republic Day.
The Joint Commissioner of Police(Law and order) will have the overall supervision, while the concerned Additional Commissioner of Police will monitor the Cyber police station in his jurisdiction.
In a special event held, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray unveiled ‘Swagat Kaksh’ (Welcome Area) for all the 94 police stations in the city and released the Mumbai Police calendar.
Ministers Anil Deshmukh, Aaditya Thackeray, Aslam Shaikh, and Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh also graced the event.
